Copyright Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Layro is a production tool operated by its users. Users bring material into their own projects — uploads, links, stock results, and the moments and pages they pick with the Picker extension — and they are responsible for holding the rights to what they publish (see Section 3 of our Acceptable Use Policy).
We respect copyright and we act on valid notices. This page explains how to tell us about infringing material, what we do when you do, and how the person affected can respond.
1. Before you send a notice
Please check that the use you are reporting is actually unlicensed. Quotation, commentary, criticism, news reporting, and other fair use / fair dealing exceptions are lawful in many jurisdictions, and material may also be public domain or licensed to the user directly. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing carries liability for damages, including costs and legal fees — under U.S. law, 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
2. How to send a copyright notice
Send your notice to our designated agent (section 3). To be actionable, it must include all six of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed — if several works are covered by one notice, a representative list
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it: the URL, project, or published video, and where in it the material appears
- Your contact details — full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf
An incomplete notice may not be actionable, but tell us anyway — we will come back to you about what is missing rather than ignore it.
3. Designated agent
Our designated agent for copyright notices and counter-notices is the company itself. Send notices by email, or by post to the registered address:
Attention: Copyright Agent
Company: LLC "Layers" (ТОВ "Лейерс")
Registration number (EDRPOU): 45972380
Registered address: 18 Marka Vovchka St., Building 3, Office 27, Kyiv 04073, Ukraine
Phone: +380 93 857 1237
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: Copyright Notice (or Counter-Notice)
Please use the subject line above, so that copyright matters enter the formal process and are handled within the timelines below rather than in the general support queue.
4. What we do when we receive a notice
- We acknowledge receipt, normally within 2 business days
- Where the notice is valid, we expeditiously remove or disable access to the material identified
- We notify the affected user, pass on a copy of the notice including your contact details, and explain how to file a counter-notice
- We keep the notice on file, together with the account it concerned, as part of our support records, so that section 6 can be applied
Removing material from the Service does not remove copies the user has already downloaded or published elsewhere. If the material has been published on another platform, send your notice to that platform as well.
5. Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a court in the district of your address — or, if you are outside the United States, of any judicial district in which we may be found — and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice
We forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not inform us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the material, generally between 10 and 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.
6. Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. The notices we count are the valid ones that were not successfully countered, and we count them by hand against our records when a new notice arrives — there is no automatic strike counter running in the product. Three such notices are the point at which we terminate an account; we may act sooner where the infringement is flagrant, for example systematic republication of a rightsholder's catalogue. Termination ends access to the Service and to projects stored in it.
7. Trademarks and other rights
Use the same channel for trademark complaints, image and personality rights, and other intellectual-property matters. Set out what right you hold, where the material appears, and why the use is unlawful. For non-consensual intimate imagery or content involving minors, write immediately to [email protected] — those reports are handled ahead of everything else and do not need the formalities above.
8. Users outside the United States
The procedure above follows the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act because it is the format most rightsholders and their agents already use. We accept notices under other applicable regimes through the same channel, including notice-and-action requests from rightsholders in the European Union and requests under Ukrainian law, where we are established. Use whichever form your counsel prefers; give us the same substance.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date, and material changes are communicated by email.
