Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") expands Section 7 of our Terms of Service and forms part of them. It applies to everyone who uses Layro — account owners, team members, and contractors invited through Picker Seats. If you invite a contractor, you remain responsible for what they do inside your projects.
Layro is a production tool. It writes, generates, and assembles material on your instruction, and keeps what you add to your projects. It does not grant you rights to anything you add: deciding that a finished video is lawful to publish is your responsibility. This policy sets the limits we place on what you make with the Service, and section 7 explains how we enforce them.
1. Content you may not create or publish
You may not use the Service to produce or distribute:
- Content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in Ukraine, where we operate
- Sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes a person under 18 — this is an absolute limit with no exception, and we report it
- Sexual or pornographic content of any kind, whoever it depicts, including sexualized nudity
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including synthetic imagery of real people
- Graphic violence or gore, such as realistic depictions of serious injury, mutilation, or death
- Synthetic depictions of real people presented as genuine — fabricated statements, fake endorsements, or simulated footage of events that did not happen
- Harassment, threats, doxxing, or incitement to violence
- Hate speech or content that demeans people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or another protected characteristic
- Medical, legal, or financial claims presented as authoritative advice when they are AI-generated and unverified
- Election disinformation, or content impersonating a government body, official, or news organization
- Malware, phishing, credential harvesting, or fraud of any kind
2. Voice, face, and likeness
The Service can synthesize speech and generate footage that depicts people. Layro does not clone voices: you voice a video with a voice from the platform library, or with a voice from your own ElevenLabs account once you connect it. These capabilities carry specific rules:
- Do not create face swaps or deepfakes — media that puts a person's face, body, or voice onto someone else, or makes a real person appear to do or say something they did not.
- Do not clone, imitate, or impersonate a real person's voice without their documented permission. You must be able to produce that permission on request.
- Do not use anyone's face, likeness, or performance in a generation or as a reference photo without their explicit consent. This includes public figures, whose image rights do not disappear because they are famous. Footage in which a person really appears may be used under that footage's licence (section 3), but not altered to change what they did or said.
- Voices from the platform library are licensed for use in your finished video. They may not be extracted, resold, or used to train a voice model.
- Where synthetic media of a real person is lawful and consented to, label it clearly in the published work. Several jurisdictions now require this.
3. Third-party material
Material enters a project in a few ways: files you upload, licensed stock libraries, picture and video files you link, pictures from the web you pick yourself, and the links and screenshots you save with the Picker browser extension. Layro never downloads video from YouTube or any other streaming platform: a YouTube moment stays a link and plays in YouTube’s own embedded player. A link, a screenshot, or a search result is not a licence. The fact that something can be found, linked, or added through Layro does not mean you are permitted to publish it. Before the first outside material enters a project, the account owner confirms that they hold the rights to it; we record the version of that confirmation, its time, and the IP address it came from.
- You are responsible for having an independent legal basis for every piece of third-party material you publish — a licence, the rightsholder's permission, public domain status, or a genuine fair use / fair dealing case in your jurisdiction.
- Do not use the Service to bypass paywalls, access controls, DRM, or other technical protection measures, or to violate a source platform's terms of service.
- Do not use the Service for bulk or systematic harvesting of a catalogue, archive, or library.
- Material from stock providers stays governed by that provider's licence, which travels with the file into your project.
- If you believe material handled through the Service infringes your copyright, see our Copyright Policy.
4. Platform integrity
- Do not circumvent credit limits, rate limits, storage quotas, or plan restrictions, or create multiple accounts to obtain additional free-tier allowances
- Do not share account credentials. Picker Seats exist so that contractors can work in your projects under their own identity.
- Do not resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement
- Do not reverse-engineer the Service, extract model weights or system prompts, or scrape the pipeline
- Do not use outputs of the Service to train a competing model or to build a competing product
- Do not access the Service by automated means outside a documented API, and do not probe, scan, or load-test our infrastructure without written permission
- Do not use project storage as a general-purpose file host, backup target, or distribution network for material unrelated to your videos
5. Third-party AI providers
Generation runs on models operated by third parties. Your use of the Service is therefore also subject to their acceptable use policies, and a provider may refuse or block a request independently of us. Where the Service lets you connect a provider key of your own, your agreement with that provider governs those calls directly.
6. Reporting a violation
If you see something on or produced through the Service that breaks these rules, write to [email protected]. Tell us what you saw and where. For copyright specifically, follow the procedure in the Copyright Policy so that we can act on it formally.
7. Enforcement
Prompts sent to image and video generators are screened automatically, and requests that break these rules are refused before anything is generated. Layro never draws an identifiable real person on its own: a real person appears in a generation only from a photo the account owner supplies, after confirming that person’s consent. Every generator also runs its provider’s safety filter at its strictest setting. Everything else is decided by a person: we review every report we receive, and we do not remove material or close accounts by automated decision.
We act proportionately. Depending on severity and history, we may:
- Warn you and ask you to correct the problem
- Remove or disable access to specific material
- Restrict particular features or reduce limits
- Suspend the account pending investigation
- Terminate the account
For severe violations — content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, deepfakes, fraud, or attacks on our infrastructure — we act immediately and without prior notice. Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyright are terminated under the repeat-infringer policy in our Copyright Policy. When we act, we tell the account owner what we did, why, and how to contest it, unless the law or the safety of others prevents it.
8. Changes to this policy
As the Service gains capabilities, this policy will gain rules. We post changes on this page with an updated date and communicate material changes by email. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
